BESSIE ERMA LOWE & HIRAM CROSBY SHULTS
Bessie Erma Lowe was born October 27, 1889, graduated from Blue Mound High School in 1907 married Hiram Crosby Shults, September 29, 1914 - likely in Blue Mound, Macon County, Illinois. Hiram was born in 1887 in Canajoharie, New York. His parents were Albert and Elizabeth Crosby Shults. Bessie died June 10, 1944, and is buried in Blue Mound Illinois. Hiram died in about 1962, and he is also buried in Blue Mound. After Bessie's death, Hiram married Una Smith. Hiram had been in WWI, he was a veterinarian by trade, and had also been mayor of Blue Mound for a period of time. Bessie and Hiram were the parents of two children: Erma Christine Shults, b. May 20, 1920, and George Albert Shults, b. August 23, 1923.

This picture was taken between 1930 and 1940. Pictured left to right are: Frank King, Bessie Erma Lowe Shults, Faithe Rosetta Lowe King, Hiram Crosby Shults, and Jo Bull. Hiram, Bessie, and Jo were definitely Blue Mound residents, and Faithe and Frank King were probably visiting from Chicago.
