    BOHON
My father recalls that his McREYNOLDS or HUTCHISON lines were related somehow to the BOHON family in Decatur IL. Supposedly, that is the reason his grandparents left Christian County KY son after their marriage in 1855 +/- and moved to Macon County IL, where they spent the rest of their lives. He also recalls two "cousins" named Lucian and Rein BOHON. Does any of this ring any bells? Sure hope so! I have found a possible connection back in KY, but though I would work on the IL end first.

    CROW / CROWE
I am looking for John Crow or Crowe. He is my great grandfather and lived at Macon, Il when my grandfather, Elmer Crowe was born June 6, 1867. I think Elmer added the "e" to the name. Elmer Crowe's mother (Emily Crow) is buried at Red Bud, Illinois in 1906 but John is not buried with her. Since Elmer and an older Sister (who I think was named either Agnes or Mary) stayed in the Macon and Christian County areas, but the four younger siblings ended up around St. Louis, I'm inclined to think that John Crow died while in Macon or Christian County.

    DAY
I am looking for some general information. I have a direct ancestor, Edward Day, born in Virginia in 1760 and migrated to Kentucky and later Illinois. Family records have him dying in 1836 or 1837 in DeWitt Co. However according to my research DeWitt did not even become a county until 1839. I believe that he lived in what was then Macon Co. Could this be? In that time what kind of records could I possibly find on him? I did find his grave site in DeWitt, IL. It appeared that a paper called the Decatur Review was read in that specific area at the time, but there is nothing older than 1839...which makes me believe maybe I should be searching in a different county. Any help would be appreciated. A geneaology beginner.

    DUDREY
I am desperately trying to find my grand-father Peter W. Dudrey. I have a teaching certificate in my possession given to him from Macon County on August 1, 1877. I don't have his birth place, and his death certificate does not list it, only that he was born in Wisconsin. I am hoping that when he applied for his teaching certificate, he had to give some details concerning his family, where he lived, etc. Any help anyone can give me or direct me to, will be greatly appreciated.

    GARVER
I recently aquired my grgrandmother's (Clara Markley)large old photo album. Pictured are several of her ancestors of the Macon Co IL Stare family of the mid 1800s. Included are various family names: KANE; KNAP(P),HIGGINS, LANE, MARKLEY, ELHOLTZ? CRAWFORD. Two pictures are identified as "Dave GARVER and wife, first settlers of Macon Co." There is no clue as how these two fit into our family or why there are pictures of them included. All of the photos are in excellent condition, and appear to be expensive studio prints with photographer's logos. Some are of the "tin type" variety. Of course, there is the usual problem of several unidentifed photos. I would like to know who Dave Garver was, and if there is anyone else researching any of these names in Macon Co.

    GIBBONS
Am looking for information on James and Jane Lawler Gibbons. James and Jane came from Ireland...not sure when...but I find them on the Macon Co. census of 1870 in Decatur, Decatur twp. Jane died there about 1872, two years after their last child was born there in Decatur, Macon co. Ill. When James came from Ireland he dropped the fitz from Fitzgibbons. According to the census each of the children were born in a different state so it is obvious they moved around alot...I believe he worked on the railroad. Their four children (that I know of) are as follows: Mary, John Thomas, James William and Helena Elizabeth.

    HARRINGTON
I am looking for the parents of Hezekiah Harrington. In his son George Harrington's obituary it said that his father (Hezekiah), 4 brothers and a sister lived at Maroa, Illinois in Macon County. I thought I had him in the census in Macon County, but I cannot find the notes on that so I will need to go look that up again to see when that was.     MORSTATTER
Does anyone have access to an index for death records for the 1915-30's time period? I am looking for:
Mary Emma Doolin MORSTATTER b 1855 in Illinois (Jefferson County?). Her husband was George Morstatter of Germany and they were residents of Sangamon County, however, her daughter, Mary Catherine Morstatter SARGENT resided in Decatur and I have a family portrait taken ca 1917, of Mary Catherine with her daughter, Violet, and two other women. It is supposed to be a 4-generation portrait but I am not convinced. In any case, one of the women is probably Mary Emma which means that she was in the vicinity and could have been living near her daughter. Thank you in advance for any help.
